There are no best players of the week as no one was particularly great or stood out this past week. While there are no worst players of the week, there is a team: Chelsea; with a total summer spending of over £200 million and 6 new first team players, they shouldn’t be having these kinds of issues against a relegation form Arsenal.
In transfer news, Chelsea are set to join Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland. Manchester United are hopeful they can beat the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona to the signature of defender David Alaba, who is out of contract at Bayern Munich next summer. Arsenal are looking at a move for Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window. Manchester United and Liverpool are among a number of clubs to express an interest in Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak. Bruno Fernandes has the most goal involvement by a midfielder in a PL season (31 goal involvements in 38 games). Arsenal’s win over Chelsea makes it their first win since Nov 1 against Manchester United. Tammy Abraham has been involved in more than half of Chelsea’s PL goals since his return.
