Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Frank Okiye has made the switch from the All Progressives Party (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Speaker made this known in a meeting with the APC Executives and Leaders in Esan North East Local Government yesterday.
Okiye said his reasons for moving to the PDP was to support Governor Godwin Obaseki’s reelection bid and the Esan Agenda to produce the next governor of the state when the present administration has completed its 8 years.
The Speaker had earlier said he was undecided as regards dumping the APC as at the time the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Rt. Hon Philip Shuaibu left for PDP following the disqualification of Godwin Obaseki by the APC screening committee for the Edo Governorship election.
